After reading various reviews I went ahead and purchased this. It arrived yesterday and I can honestly say that it is awesome. I think the Spock voice sounds authentic and once you move the switch to PLAY in the battery pack there are several Spock phrases to enjoy as well as various light and sound options. The strap is faux leather but certainly sturdy enough to support the weight of the tricorder if you want to wear it as part of a costume. Overall I am very pleased.
